Beautiful Places and Empty Spaces

The scenery surrounding the places I have picnicked in the past few months, alone is worthy of a dozen or so postcards. I have tasted what it means to live carefree life, generously dipping into the world of adventure and rest. Exploring creation through climbing, walking, running, swimming, seeing, touching, tasting. Life is full and rich. Life has also allowed empty spaces, hours of silence, unscheduled hours, days and weeks. In that time I have been able to listen. I have not only learned about myself, my strengths, weaknesses, temptations, frustrations, but also began to hear about places. Places that I have been called to, places in my life that need work, places I can find rest and revival, places I experience God, places I miss, places I may explore in the future. I desire to bring both the adventure and empty spaces home with me. Hopefully able to weave them into my daily life and enjoy the joy, peace and wisdom that they bring to my life.
